The foundation stone for modernizing the entire Nuremberg site will be laid as early as 2018. STAUB & CO. - SILBERMANN plans to bring both the buildings and the technical equipment and workplaces up to the very latest standards. Logistical optimization and further development also play an important role.
"There is a lot of bureaucracy behind such a major project. First of all, a number of applications had to be submitted and various permits obtained," recalls Jens Rieger, Site Manager Nuremberg STAUB & CO. - SILBERMANN and responsible for site redevelopment.
"It really started in 2020."
While demolition work is underway, the first new buildings are being constructed in parallel. In July 2020, the office staff will move into modern offices in the converted administration building. The warehouse and container filling for cold-sensitive substances are shooting up. "There we can now fill cold-sensitive acids, alkalis and food additives such as caustic soda, phosphoric acid or calcium chloride. And with a filling time of just 4:16 minutes per 1,000-liter container," explains Jens Rieger.
Next door, top tank filling takes on its new form in 2021 and today impresses with its high speed: "Thanks to the high pump capacity, a tank with a capacity of three cubic meters is full within six minutes." Another advantage is the so-called gravimetric measurement, whereby the demountable tanks are filled directly on the scale.
The large order picking hall marks the end of new construction work in Nuremberg last March. In the logistics warehouse of a special kind, the ordered quantities can be assembled, packed and prepared for shipment.
The icing on the cake
At the beginning of this year, the new facade of the administration building in gray completes the overall picture. E-parking spaces for employees sustainably complement the Nuremberg site. In addition, an emergency power supply for the entire site now ensures even more safety. The site manager's verdict is positive: "All the efforts have paid off. The new buildings are a fitting addition to our existing buildings and thanks to the restructuring we save ourselves time and distances."
